The Institute of Philosophy and Semiotics invites students from all University of Tartu masters’ programmes to participate in the online course “E-Health Opportunities & Challenges: IOT, AI and Ethics” (5 ECTS) to find out more about tech influence and challenges for eHealth sector.
The course is a good chance to meet students from all across Europe and is interdisciplinary – it brings together students and scientists from various disciplines, for example engineers, programmers, scientists from arts and humanities etc. The online course ends with a workshop where participants can try and solve a real-life eHealth challenge. The best students from the course win an exciting opportunity to get an internship in a company in Europe that develops innovative IT-solutions to health problems.

This course will allow the students to establish the basis of the eHealth sector from a perspective of real challenges, as well as the technologies (Internet of Things, Big Data, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning) that can be key to the evolution of the sector, always from a humanistic perspective and ethical reflection of the technological solution.
The course was developed in the Erasmus+ project “Advanced Training in Health Innovation Knowledge Alliance” (ATHIKA) and the ethics part is thought by Kardi Simm, the Associate Professor of Practical Philosophy at the University of Tartu.
